Columbus - February 2011 - Cub Scout Neckerchief Slide - Core Value Perseverance

February 2011 we made these Columbus cub scout neckerchief slides because Columbus had lots of perseverance to make it to America.  It was a lot of hard work and took many years.  I found these at Oriental Trading.  They were on clearance and were a craft kit to make pencil toppers, but worked great as neckerchief slides.  We used hot glue to glue the kit together and put the backs on.  It cost $1.99 to make 12 of them, but I got to keep the pencils, so that made them super cheap.

The kit came with a red pipe cleaner, so I had everyone use that for the back even though I usually use PVC pipe.
